Susan J. Szkodzinski

Susan J. Szkodzinski, 54 of Rockford died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 at UW Madison Medical Center. Born June 25, 1954, daughter of Donald S. and Mabel (Nyberg) Sandberg. Married her loving husband Joseph Szkodzinski on Feb. 2, 1991 in North Hollywood CA. Susan wasinstrumental in starting theYMCAs MS Aquatics Class and a member of the National MS Society. She enjoyed cooking, being in the outdoors and gardening. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at UW Medical Center Cardiac ICU. Survivors include her husband Joseph; her mother Mabel Sandberg; sister, Linda Pechin; nephews Hunter Pechin and Sam Pechin; mother-in-law, Lottie Szkodzinski; sisters-in-law, Marilyn, Nancy and Alice. She was preceded in death by her father and father-in-law, Casey Szkodzinski. Funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Stephen Klemp of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation Monday, Oct. 27 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home, continuing on Tuesday from 10 until time of service.
