Susan “Sue” A. DeWitt, 60, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018. She was born December 14, 1957, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Arnold and Alda (Zandonatti) DiTomassi. Sue retired from Rockford City Hall, finance department, after more than 39 years of employment.
An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Sue enjoyed shopping, cooking, and trying out new restaurants. She had a passion for music and attended numerous country music concerts over the years. Sue also enjoyed swimming and boating, especially during her trips up north to the lake with family and friends. Most of all, Sue cherished time spent with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a very proud supporter of her family and never missed an event. Sue will be sorely missed and remembered forever as a loving mother, nunna, sister, aunt and friend.
Survived by her daughters, Sarah (Ezio) Marino and Melissa (Brandon) Johnson; grandchildren, Giuliano and Siena Marino, Gavin and Levi Johnson; sister, Marilyn (David) Hanson; brothers, Arnold (Kayellen) DiTomassi and Charles (Cristine) DiTomassi; numerous nieces, nephews; her cat, Vito and grand dog, Petey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Cathedral of Saint Peter, 1243 N Church St, Rockford, IL 61103. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. , Friday, April 6, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108 and again at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Cathedral of Saint Peter.
