Sue Fiduccia, 80, beloved lifelong Rockford resident, died peacefully surrounded by family members, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Born June 23, 1944, daughter of William M. and Barbara C. Schlenk Two. Graduated from St. James Elementary School and in 1962 graduated from Muldoon High School. Married Robert P. Fiduccia on June 6, 1964 in St. James Church, where she was also a long-time member. Prior to his death in 1985, Sue was not only his wife but also his caregiver as he fought his best fight against MS, dying on April 17, 1985. Sue began her career working in the Winnebago County States Attorney’s office and that is also how she and Bob met. She would walk warrants over to the Court House to give them to Bob and she always monitored his efficiency with them. She was a part of the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office for 43 years. She started by being on the Coroner’s Jury, then became the Administrative Assistant in the office, followed by becoming a Deputy Coroner. She was appointed Winnebago County Coroner in 1995 and was elected in 1996, beginning a 21-year career in that position, being re-elected four times and being one of the largest vote getters each time. 

Sue served the Winnebago County citizens in numerous ways and was honored with many, many community honors and awards. A few of those include being honored by the Alpine Kiwanis Club, Northern Illinois Critical Care Nurses, Jane Adams District NASW, American Criminal Justice Association, Rockford East/ Cherry Valley Rotary, National Alliance on Mental Health, American Red Cross, YWCA Leader Luncheon and numerous others. She was passionate about her work in public service and truly had the kind heart of a loving servant.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Mo Cara Hospice for the loving care and support they gave to Sue and her family as well as the many family members and friends that came to visit.

Survivors include her son, William A. (Megan) Fiduccia; daughter, Susan (Mike) Pulizzi; grandchildren, Calvin Pulizzi, Zachery (Jenessa) Fiduccia, Emily (Chris) Johnson, Joseph Pulizzi, Christopher Fiduccia (fiancé, Leah Nucum), Peter (Lauren) Pulizzi and Nathan Fiduccia; great-grandchildren, Kyber and Quinlan Fiduccia and Parker and Emilia Pulizzi; sister, Mary Kay McCormick; sisters-in-law, Mary Gay Two and Carolyn Fiduccia as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Also predeceased by her parents, brother, Joseph M. Two and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. with a Law Enforcement walk-thru at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Holy Family. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greg Lindmark Foundation, P.O. Box 91, Roscoe IL 61073, Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N. 1st St. Rockford, IL 61107 or St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St. Rockford, IL 61107.
