Stuart A. Lundquist

Stuart Alan Lundquist, 47, died unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on Friday, February 3, 2017, in Skokie, IL. Stuart was born on September 19, 1969, in Rockford, IL, to Bruce and Gloria Lundquist. He graduated from Rockford Auburn High School in 1987. He continued his education at the University of Iowa, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in French and English Language. Stuart then continued his education at Iowa, earning a Master’s degree as well. He then moved to France, teaching at the Universite De Rennes, Rennes, France. After living and teaching in France for 3 years, he moved back to Chicago where he renewed his association with the Follett Corp. While at Follett Education Group Corp. he earned promotions in the organization to the manager of Customer Service at their Westchester, Illinois location. Stuart was united in marriage to his beautiful and loving wife, Lidya Maria Gonzalez on December 21, 2010. The memories of Stuart’s too short life will be with us always. We will have the lasting memories of a generous son, a loving and devoted husband, a true friend, a loyal and dedicated employee and a brother who was always available to help with a project. Whether it be assembling a playground set for his nephew, Walter and niece, Vivienne or home maintenance and projects for his mother and father, Stuart was always there, ready and willing to help whoever needed it. He could often be found walking his dogs around the neighborhood or perusing one of his cherished books from his enormous personal library.
He is survived by his wife, Lidya Maria Gonzalez; parents, Bruce and Gloria Lundquist; mother-in-law, Lidya Gonzalez, Miami, FL; brothers, Ross (Leahann) Ferger, Rock Falls, IL and Doug Lundquist (Cathern Smith), Evanston, IL; nephews, Corey Ferger (Meagan Beck), Grayslake, IL, Kyle Ferger, San Diego, CA and Walter Lundquist; niece, Vivienne Lundquist; aunts, Ameilia Wolf, Peoria, IL, Joan Yeager, Rockton, IL and LaRae Kauppinen Lundquist, Rockford, IL; uncles, Larry Lundquist, Livermore, CA, Joseph Fiorini, Rock Falls, IL and many, many dear cousins.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and will continue on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Capt. (Ret.)
