Stewart K. Boeselager, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born June 20, 1958, in Appleton, Wis., the son of David and Jeannette (Thurow) Boeselager. He graduated from Rockford East High School and the University of Illinois and spent most of his career as a chemical engineer. Stewart was a kind, intelligent, gentle man with a deep passion for music, books, and art. He was a friend to everyone he met and loved to talk about all kinds of subjects. A self-taught and very talented guitarist and bassist, he was an avid performer and supporter of live music. Above all, Stewart will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Survived by his parents, David and Jeannette; brother, Tim (Kim) Boeselager; sister, Amy (Noel) Nickel; and nephews, Brock and Bryce Boeselager and Jackson, Hayden, and Brady Nickel.
A celebration of Stewart’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S Mulford Rd., Rockford, preceded by a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Friends of Rockford Public Library.
