Steven Thomas Gierke

Steven Thomas Gierke, 67 of Rockford, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. He was born on January 7, 1955, in Glenview, IL, the son of Robert “Bob” A. and Georgiana Ann (Hock) Gierke.

Steve had a strong life-long belief in Jesus Christ. He worked in maintenance at various apartment complexes most of his adult life. His interests include gardening, old movies and he loved to watch The 3 Stooges. He had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. He joked often about the “World Holiday” which was his birthday! He liked to spend time with family and was especially fond of the two dogs that lived with them.

Steve is survived by his father, Bob; children, Steven Gierke Jr. and Summer Gierke; several grandchildren; siblings, Dan (Chris) Gierke, Tony Gierke, Tim, Gierke and Kathy Beeh and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his mother, Georgiana, sister, Debbie Gierke and infant brother, Bobby Gierke.
