Steven R. Rice

David Junction- Steven R. Rice, 53, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 in his home. Born April 16, 1955 in Rockford the son of LeRoy and Carole (Vickory). Married his loving wife Mary Schumacher on April 21, 1973. He had worked as a Maintenance Machine Mechanic for AG Communication Systems in Genoa. Steven was first and foremost a proud grandparent who always tried to attend every one of his grandchildrens events. He was known as someone who would lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. An avid bears fan, a Go Green advocate and a lover of natures brilliant landscapes. Survivors include his wife, Mary of David Junction; daughters, Marcy (Shawn) Wilson of Rockford and Tracy Lund-Rice of Clinton, WI; grandchildren, Steven and Mindy Lund and Alex and Alyssa Wilson; brothers, Gary, Craig, John and Pat Rice and Paul Lindquist; sisters, Shari Reagan, Vicki Rippentrop, Lori Rice and Michelle Smith; step-father, Andre Lindquist and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his Father; mother, Carol Lindquist and nephew, Craig Rice. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford with Pastor Angelo Bonacquisti of First General Baptist Church of Rochelle officiating. Visitation from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
