Steven M. Erb

Steven "Steve" M. Erb, PawPaw, 75, of Loves Park, passed away on December 22, 2024, at UW Madison Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Guy W. and Marie A. (Krischke) Erb. He graduated from Auburn High School, class of 1967. He proudly served in the U.S Marine Corps from 1967-1969. Steve was a member of the American Lombardi Club. He worked at Ingersoll Milling Machine and owned two businesses, Winnebago Welding Service and WinnWeld.

Steve enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Wisconsin, fishing in all his favorite places, and sitting by the campfire listening to his music. He is now forever fishing with Jerry Dybedal and Dale Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne (Long) Erb; daughters, Caren (Ken) Messina and Susan Erb; grandkids, Christopher Erb, Justina Kessling, Matthew Messina, and Joseph Messina; brother, Bryan (Tina Morely) Erb; sisters-in-law, Carol Erb, Kathy Erb, Jane Erb, and Sharon Long Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Frank Long, Daniel Long, Jim (Sadie) Long; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; honorary grandchildren, Cali Haun and Aiden Bristol; honorary great grandchildren, Elyza Haun Cooper; friend, Mike (Karen) Smith; and Larch Anderson, the wife of his very best longtime friend Dale Anderson. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold, Dennis, and Daniel; sister, Valerie Jo; and parents-in-law, Frank and Helen Long.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. At this time services are still pending. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
