Steven Douglas Delong

Steven D. DeLong, 65, of Rockford passed away October 11, 2019 at UW Hospital in Madison, WI. Born April 19, 1954 in Rockford the son of James T. & Florence M. (Cooper) DeLong. Graduated from Rockford East high school, class of 1973. Married Pamela Clingenpeel in on September 23, 1995. He worked for Beloit Memorial Hospital, retiring on August 1, 2019.

Steven was an avid Chicago Bears and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed singing karaoke,
camping, playing darts, fishing, bowling and gardening, especially his tomato plants.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; mother, Florence; brother, Dale DeLong; sister, Debbie Torkelson; daughter, Stacy (Jamie) Como, stepdaughter, Pam Muehlenberg and stepson, Jason Welch; grandchildren, Samantha Como, Andrew (Talia) Shaw, Jake Muehlenberg, Andrea Muehlenberg, Gabriella Andorfer, Ryan Sterbenz, great granddaughter, Iylaa’Jo Meadly and numerous nieces and nephews. He’s also survived by brother in law, Rick (Vicky) Clingenpeel and sister in law, Becky (Daryl) Kapfer. Predeceased by father, James T DeLong; brother, Daniel DeLong; and two stepdaughters, Tina Harris and Frankie Sterbenz.

Services will be 1 PM Sunday, October 20 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 South Milford Rd., Rockford, IL. Visitation is from 12 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family. Send online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
