Stephen "Steve" J. Archer

Stephen “Steve” James Archer, 73, Chana, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Born July 22, 1947, in Rockford, the son of Richard and LaVon (Nyght) Archer. Steve was a graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1965 and veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam era. He married Margaret Monaco in Rockford on March 10, 1978. Steve worked at Camcar Corporation for many years retiring as the Quality Control Supervisor. He was an avid Cubs and Packers fan and enjoyed fishing, but most of all, Steve loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Margaret; his daughters, Angela and Diane Winters, and Jacqueline (Jeremy) Fallis; his grandchildren, Dominic Archer, Wyatt, Sophia, and Norah Fallis, Danielle Bowen, Carlie Parker and Laura Hoffman; his great-grandchildren, Madeline Hoffman, Megan and Blake Bowen, and Grayson Parker; his sister, Sandy (Jon Bates) Rich; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Davis Junction Park followed by a luncheon at the park. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family.
