Stephen Charles Detlof, Rockford-Stephen Charles Detlof, of Rockford died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at home. Born June 20, 1951 to Charles W. and Nadine (Lafranca) Detlof. Graduated from Boylan High School in 1969. Served in the National Guard Army from 1969 to 1975. Worked for Woodward Governor for almost 30 years. Avid Bears fan, enjoyed photography, playing the piano, swimming, working out, bike riding, watching movies, and singing in a band. He had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor made friends easily and extremely outgoing. Member of the YMCA. His Attitude and courage struggling with cancer was amazing. He was forever hilarious, insightful and positive. We have all lost someone who has made our lives so much richer and will forever be remembered. His son Mike will always lovingly remember all he taught him. Funeral Service 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Riverside Chapel) 3910 N. Rockton Avenue. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home.
