Stella R. Meyers

Rockford-Stella Rosalie Meyers, 89 a lifetime resident of Rockford, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at Neighbors Nursing Home, Byron. Born Oct. 8, 1921 the daughter of Albin and Veronica Bozym. Married Melbourne Meyers on Aug. 25, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa. Survivors include her children, Marlene (Dixon) Smith, of FL., Thomas Meyers of Rockford, Barbara (Steve) Eckelberg of WI, David (Karen) Meyers of MI, Mark (Cecilia) Meyers, Philip Meyers both of Rockford and Charles Meyers of Rockton; daughter in law, Judy Meyers of Rockford; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Melbourne and sons, Edward, Steven and Glenn and daughters in law, Patricia and Vicky Meyers.We express our most sincere gratitude to the loving angels who cared for our Mother, the staff at Neighbors and the nurses fro OSF hospice who helped her leave this earth with dignity and love to be with her Lord and Savior. Funeral Mass Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School Street. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park. Visitation Saturday in church from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside chapel is assisting the family.
