Stella E. Vinci

Stella E. (Casarotto) Vinci, 91 of Rockford, passed away December 16, 2018.

Stella was born May 13, 1927 in Rockford, daughter of Emilio and Teresa (Fabrello) Casarotto. She married Frank J. Vinci on July 26, 1947 in Rockford, IL. Stella was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Venetian Club and worked as a cook in the Rockford Schools. She was the heart of her family, which meant everything to her. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and going to her cottage in the Northwoods. Stella will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include her children, Frank Vinci Jr., Pamela (Jeff) Hansen, Greg (Michele) Vinci and Tammy (Steve) Arns; grandchildren, Michael (Carol), David, Gregg, Krista (Chazz), Nicole, Alex (Nicole) and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Alexis, Alivia, Nathan and Ella; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Frank (Mary) Casarotto and John (Louise) Casarotto. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank; 5 brothers, 1 sister and a great-grandchild.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd Street in Rockford, IL 61107. A memorial mass will take place at 11:30 a.m. immediately following the gathering. Inurnment will conclude in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
