Sofia Isabel Reyes-Delgado, 19, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, passed away on May 26,2024, in Rockford, Illinois. She was born on April 28, 2005, in Puerto Rico, daughter to Gilberto A. Reyes and Amarillys Delgado. From a young age, Sofia's spirit shone brightly through her passion for reading and later experimenting with the latest makeup trends. Her vibrant personality and kind-hearted nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her free time, she enjoyed immersing herself in the beauty of words and colors, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Sofia enjoyed her role as a camp counselor for Alpine Hills Adventure Park's Nature Quest. She found fulfillment in guiding children through outdoor adventures, feeding their curiosity, fostering friendships, and instilling in them a love for the natural world. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church and graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 2023. It was during her senior year that Sofia's talent for poetry shone brightly as she became a Poetry Finalist at the Fine Arts Fair. Her creative spirit and eloquent words will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to witness her artistry.
Sofia will be missed by those who loved her most, her father Gilberto and her mother Amarillys (Pedro Figueroa) Delgado; her sisters Camila and Angelica I. Figueroa; her grandmothers Brunilda Rivera, Nydia Santiago, and Minerva Rodriguez; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents Ramon G Reyes, Ramon L. Delgado, and Pedro Figueroa.
In honoring Sofia's life, let us remember her passionate pursuit of words, her gentle spirit that radiated warmth to all around her, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace knowing she made this world a brighter place with her light.

A visitation will take place on Monday, June 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Maunabo Memorial, Ave, Calimano #10, Maunabo, Puerto Rico, 00707. Mass will take place the following day, Tuesday, June 5th, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at St. Isidro Labrador Parish, 11 Cll Antonio R Barcelo, Maunabo, Puerto Rico, 00707.
