Silvia Viola

Silvia (Silvana) Viola joined the ranks of heaven’s domain and joined our Heavenly Father and the Blessed Virgin Mary on June 24, 2023. She was born in Ferentino, Italy on May 18, 1927, daughter of Orlando and Filomena Zacarri. She worked at Maria’s restaurant for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, doing things like embroidery, ceramics, and crocheting. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and was a movie enthusiast, she loved old movies as well as current releases.

She is survived by those who loved her most, her daughters Rose Marie (Michael) Carr, and Josephine (Virgil) Alejos; her grandchildren Silvia (Michael) Abbott; Jose Alejos, Jonathan (Sarah) Carr, and Michelle (Andy) Lind; great grandchildren James, Ashley, Krysta, Cooper, and Nathan; great great grandchildren Josiah, Jackson, Rhiann; her sister Rita (Nicola d.) Monaci; numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Dante Viola; sisters Iolanda and Anna Maria (Suor Giuseppina), and brother Nello; her grandson Virgil Alejos.

Visitation to take place on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL 61107. Entombment to take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish masses for Silvia’s soul.
