Shirley R. Elliott

Shirley R. Elliott, 93, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Shirley was born in St. Louis, MO on September 21, 1925, daughter of Leonard and Hazel (Lorenz) Langeneckert. She married Francis E. Elliott on July 3, 1945 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away June 29, 2007. Throughout life, Shirley was an excellent cook and loved to read. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include her three children: Sherry (Edward) Zenk of Machesney Park, IL, Barbara Guse of Rockford, IL, Grant (Lynn) Elliott of Cedar Falls, IA; six grandchildren: Laurie Rickabaugh, Kelly (Thomas) Kalt, Edward Zenk, Thomas (Wendy) Guse, Mark (Stacie) Guse and Dennis Latimer; ten great-grandchildren: Jordan, Brock, Brenna, Charlie, Ava, Jake, Ellie, Oliver, Cade and Johnny. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis; sister, Jean Marty and brother, Jack Langeneckert. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, especially Ade Jacobs and the entire staff of Hospice Care of America for their loving care and concern for Shirley.

According to Shirley’s wishes, private graveside services will be held. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of America or the Jerry Guse Scholarship Fund at Lutheran High School.
