Services are pendingShirley J. Eckman, 96, Savanna, formerly of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. She was born September 27, 1923, in Rockford, the daughter of George and Florence (Carlson) Greenberg. Shirley married Floyd Eckman in Rockford in 1946. He passed away in Rockford on March 17, 1994.
Survived by her son, Michael (Linda) Eckman of Sabula, IA and their children, Chad (fiancé Kelly) Eckman and Lisa (Michael) Kelly and their children, Ti, Alana, and Briana Kelly; her daughter, Rita (Larry) Blackstad of Minnatonka, MN and their children, Erik (Jan) Blackstad and their children, Reece and Jensen Blackstad, and Tor (Jaime) Blackstad and their children, Jax and Zoie Blackstad; her son, Richard (his partner, Chris Beekhuis) Eckman of San Jose, CA; her sisiter, Carol Lind and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Floyd, her brother, Robert Greenberg, and her brother-in-law, Carl Lind.
A private family Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 20, 2020, at Willwood Burial Park with Reverend Barb Hayden officiating.
