Shirley E. Ciolac, 88, originally from Rockford, formerly of Dundee, passed away January 20, 2015 at PA Peterson Nursing Center. Born June 1, 1926, in Chicago, the daughter of Louis E. and Laura E. (Girling) Linne. Shirley graduated from Schurz High School in 1944 in Chicago. She married John P. Ciolac on July 10, 1976 in Dundee. She worked for Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village as the Supervisor of Emergency and Outpatient Services, retiring in 1976. Shirley was a 30 year cancer survivor. She enjoyed gardening, socializing with her Red Hats Club and taking trips to the casino for fun. One of her favorite things to do was go fishing. Shirley was the best of the best moms, who adored her family.
Survived by her children, Judy (Gary) LaMaire, of Crystal Lake and Mark Fredricks, of Rockford; grandchildren, Brent (Annette) Neely, Devin (Nadia) Neely and Tara (Dave) Bruskie; great grandchildren, Trevor, Willow and Kensi Bruskie and Hunter and Sommer Neely; stepdaughters, Catherine Ciolac and Patricia (Butch) Booth; step grandson, Matthew Booth; brother, Keller Linne; niece and nephew, Pegi Linne and Larry (Jenny) Linne; and special friends, Ann Hamilton, Jan Aumann, Barb Dzik, Barb Berman and Chad Aumann.
Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
