Shirley Clara Mellor

Shirley Clara Mellor, 90, of Crystal Lake, IL passed away on October 06, 2013. She was born on March 16, 1923 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of John and Leta (Thompson) Hines. She graduated from Monroe Center High School. She married DeWayne Mellor on February 4, 1942. Most of her life was spent living on a farm in Monroe Center, IL. She owned and operated Country Ceramics and also worked at Fairdale Implement. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband in their motor home.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Gwen (Charles) Larabee of Barrington, IL and Dianne (Patrick) Hackman of North Carolina, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and one brother, Winston Hines, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Winston Hines, Sr. A special thank you to the staff at The Fountains at Crystal Lake.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
