Sharon L. (Luhrs) Bliss

Sharon L (Luhrs) Bliss, 76, of Rockford, passed away January 11, 2018 at Anam Glen. Born April 17, 1941, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Lloyd & Rose (Beitzel) Herman. Graduated from Nursing School in 1962. She work at Swedish America Hospital, Rockford Clinic, and University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford Campus, retiring in 2007. Married Curtis Bliss on June 2, 2006. Member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed theater, traveling, especially the trips to Alaska, New Zealand, Fiji, and the train ride through the Canadian Rockies with Curtis, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Survivors include husband, Curtis; son Erich (Lori) Luhrs; daughters Katrina (Brad) Wimmer; brother, Paul (Kathy) Herman; sister Judy Adkin; grandchildren, Josh Luhrs, Sarah Bliss, Abby Luhrs, Grant Bliss, Rose Wimmer, Kate Wimmer, Emily Bliss, Delaney Wimmer; nieces and nephews, Lloyd (Laura) Herman, Michelle (Steve "Woody") Dunwoody and Lisa (John) Barbee. Predeceased by parents Lloyd and Rose Herman and brother, Lloyd Jr. “Sonny” Herman.
