Sharon J. Arco
Born November, 15th 1938, in Wessington Springs, SD and raised in the harsh climate of a farmland in Woonsocket, South Dakota, Sharon was the fourth daughter of five born to Gertrude Regynski and Harold Rumelhart. Her upbringing surrounded by four sisters in farm life instilled a grit, a determination and a toughness that enabled her to push through the challenges of her life with courage, joy, faith, and a passion for success that she passed on to her children. In 1957, Sharon graduated from high school. She went on to continue her education at the Huron, South Dakota Business School and thereafter moved to Rockford, Illinois, in 1958. It was here that she met the love of her life, Carl A. Arco. They married on October 10th, 1959, and were blessed with four children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She and her husband Carl opened their own business, Fast Photo, where she served as a photographic technician for 12 years. Once the business was sold, Sharon worked until her retirement in 2006. During this time, she served as an office manager at Muller Studio.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gertrude; her father, Harold; and her three older sisters, Avis Schmidt husband Joe, Marva Ball husband John, and Judy Bee spouse Jim Bee; She leaves behind her beloved husband, Carl A. Arco; sister Wanda Lindgren, her brother-in-law, Joe Arco, and his wife, Susan Arco; brother-in-law Ron Ingrassia and his wife Patti; her son, Steven A., and his wife, Carisa Arco, and their children, Joselyn and Zach Arco; her daughter, Tammy, and her son, AJ Barone, and , Baileigh Howlett, and their child, Aleo Barone; her son, Chris Arco, and his daughter, Alegra Arco husband Mike Leaman; and her daughter, Julie, and her husband Barry Klaung, and their children, Jacob fiancée Gabby Nicola, Sam, and Savannah Klaung. With a fulfilling work life and a thriving family life, Sharon Arco's life embodied the fruitfulness of life. After a long and full life Sharon can now rest in the loving embrace of Jesus.
A graveside service will be on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
