Sharlene Holesinger

Sharlene Holesinger, 79, of Cherry Valley, IL went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2018. Born in Great Bend, Kansas, on May 16, 1938. Sharlene was the daughter of the late Gordon and Helen Stipes. She was married to Raymond Holesinger for 60 years. She graduated from Mount St. Clare College in Clinton, Iowa. She had a love of children and worked for many years as an elementary teacher and preschool teacher. Sharlene took great pride in her flower garden and could often be found tending to her many flowers.
Survivors include her husband Raymond; three children, Suzanne (George) Krysztopa, Kristin (Kevin) Spieles and Stephen Holesinger; two grandchildren, Alan and Raelynn; brothers, David (Barb) Stipes and Randy (Char) Stipes and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the OSF team for their support and care.
Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL on May 10, 2018. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
