Scott B. Johnson, 66, lifelong Rockford resident, died Sunday morning, May 13, 2018 at Nelson Debes Subacute Care. Born January 16, 1952, son of Gilbert G. and Katherine “Kats” Bladstrom Johnson. Graduated from Guilford High School in 1970 and married Kathie J. Linneman in Freeport on June 1, 1974. Scott formerly worked as the Bakery Manager at the South Alpine Hilander Grocery Store. He was employed at Cooling Landscape as a crew foreman for 20 years.
He was a long time member of Brahe Lodge #245 at VASA Park. He was a skilled carpenter and heavy equipment operator, having worked on many homes and building projects in the area. He was a perfectionist where his work was concerned and you could always count on things being done correctly. Scott was an amazing cook and baker. He excelled in making Swedish pancakes, lasagna and homemade pizzas. Scott also enjoyed grilling out with family and friends. He was the best neighbor ever and always willing to help out with whatever was needed. His family was always the important part of his life and he could be counted on for good advice and guidance.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie; son, Chad (Dana) Johnson: daughters, Sarah Johnson and Heidi (Lloyd) Wellen; grandchildren, Aiden Higgenbotham and Haley Wellen; nieces and a nephew. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Randy.

Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with Rev. Deanna Mede officiating.
