Sarah M. Irving

Sarah M. Irving, 80, died peacefully at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center on July7, 2018 after a 20 year battle with vascular dementia. She was born on May 15, 1938 to Anthony and Mamie (Domico) Martarano. She lived her entire life in Rockford and was a 1956 graduate of West High School. She married Paul Irving on June 29, 1963 who predeceased her in 2011. She is survived by children, Debra (Edward) Ganzel, John (Cindy) Irving, Paula (Danny) Bryant and Linda (Jack) Liebgott; grandchildren, Amanda (Phillip) Peerboom, Michelle Bryant, Sammy Irving and Anthony Irving, Tyler, Jared, Nick and Rachel Liebgott; brother, Mike Martarano; numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her spouse, parents, brother, Sam Martarano; sisters, Rose Losh, Antonette DiGiovanni and Connie Webster.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 13 at 11:00 pm in the chapel at Fairhaven Retirement Center, 3470 N Alpine Rd, Rockford, IL, 61114. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Memorials to Fairhaven's Good Samaritan Fund. A private burial will take place at Scottish Argyle Cemetery.
