Sarah Ann Hyser, 50, of Rockford, lost her battle with ALS on April 13, 2025.
Sarah was born on December 8, 1974, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Bill and Peg Hyser. She attended St. Bernadette School, Boylan High School, and Moorehead University in Minnesota, earning her bachelors degree in English. Her last job was at Meijers in Loves Park. Sarah, also known as Mama Hyser at All Saints Catholic Academy, was an avid reader and was very active in many groups whether at work, school, church, or her sons school. She was especially fond of Brit Box and anything England.
She leaves to cherish her memories, son, James; parents, Peg and Bill; sister, Emily (Kenny) and their family Kenny Jr., Alexandria, Rico, Kai, and Kadin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her infant brother, Andrew.
A special thank you to the Boylan High School class of 1992 for their support, visits, and prayers.
A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation prior to Mass starting at 9:30 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Avenue Rockford, IL 61103. A night before visitation will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103. Private family burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to James' college fund or to All Saints Catholic Academy.
