Sandra "Sandy" Lea Mcveigh

Sandra “Sandy” Lea McVeigh, 84, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6th, 2023, in Byron, Illinois. Born to Malcolm and Louise (Dawson) Jones on August 1st, 1939, in Rockford, Illinois. She married Billy McVeigh in August of 1957. Sandy, an avid worker, was the original owner of McVeigh Truck Center, INC., which she remained a big part of during her life, and is now onto the third generation. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness’s Hall, loved to collect roosters and work on puzzles.

She survived by her son, Bradley (Cheryl) McVeigh; grandchildren, Alen (Shannon) McVeigh, Steven McVeigh, Cassie (Tad) Schuepbach, Sarah (Bill McNeff) McVeigh, and Robert McVeigh; great grandchildren, Ava, Rowan, Evie, Max, Alex, Avery, Maria Isabella, and Guillermo; sisters, Karen (George) Standeford, Carol Martin and Marcia Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Marilyn Hill. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy McVeigh and son Kim McVeigh.
