Samuel Teleios Lee Becker

January 25, 2017 — January 24, 2017

It is with a heavy, but thankful heart that we honor our sweet angel boy, Samuel Teleios Lee Becker. Born January 25, 2017 at 7:29pm, 5 lbs. and 17 ¾ inches. Samuel became an angel at birth, as his body had imperfections that no one had foreseen. However, in our eyes he was and will always be perfect. Matt found the biblical name Teleios which means, perfect and complete. We do not understand why this is happening, but we do know that we were able to spend two days with our perfect angel. We are so very proud of our baby boy that despite everything was a fighter and did his best with what God gave him. Henry has been an amazing big brother and we are thankful for the out-pouring of love and support from our family, friends and the community.
In addition to Samuels parents and big brother, he is survived by grandmas Sandra Stockwell and Martha Glick, great grandparents, Robert and Joan Spurlin, aunts and uncles Evan Stockwell (Matthew Budd), and Poppy Chun (Raphael Chun). We extend our gratitude to the incredible team of Nurses (Holly H., Annie L., Angie L., Devyn G., Alta R., Lydia, Courtney F., Lori S., Judy H., Tanya F., Kayla R, Michelle B., Leslie O., and Kelly G.), Doctors (Candace Gates, Tarek Harb, David Schleicher, and Mohammad Almonajed) and staff at Swedish American Health System for the excellent care and compassion. Words cannot express our gratitude to Kathy and Stephanie from The Haven Network (www.thehavennetwork.org) that were so very thoughtful and provided us with pictures and keepsakes of our sweet Samuel. Hug your family a little tighter and take time each day to appreciate what truly matters in life, being present, not perfect.

We will have a service and luncheon to honor Samuel Teleios Lee Becker on February 11th at 11am at City First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford, IL 61114 (formerly Rockford First). Please park in the parking lot off of Spring Creek Road, service to be held in the South Chapel.

We ask for our family and friends to dress in a bright color or print to reflect the beauty that surrounds us.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to City First Champions Club. This is a ministry dedicated to providing services to children and families with special needs, City First Church (815) 877-8000 https://www.cityfirst.church/champions-club/.
