RUTH R. HAYENGA, 78, Rockford, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in her home.nbsp; Born November 21, 1928 in Rockford, daughter of Edwin and Agnes Karlson Sandstrom.nbsp; Married LaVern F. Hayenga in Crown Point, IN. on June 9, 1951.nbsp; Formerly employed by Sundstrand Corp.nbsp; Long time member of Riverside Community Church. Ruth loved watching the birds and all of the wild animals that inhabited her yard.nbsp; She would like to thank everyone at ACT and VNA Hospice for their loving care. nbsp; Survivors include her son, Gene Hayenga; sisters-in-law, Erma Sandstrom and Elaine Garnhart; nieces, Diane Lynch, Jane Garnhar and Janet Schultz; nephews, Gene Anderson, Darrell Sandstrom and Jim Garnhart as well as other surviving family members.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband on June 17, 1987; her sister, Mina Anderson and her brother, George Sandstrom. nbsp; Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Dr. William Richard Kerr, Sr. officiating.nbsp; Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from noon until time of the service on Saturday.nbsp; Memorials may be made to the family.
