Ruth R. Hayenga

RUTH R. HAYENGA, 78, Rockford, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in her home. Born November 21, 1928 in Rockford, daughter of Edwin and Agnes Karlson Sandstrom. Married LaVern F. Hayenga in Crown Point, IN. on June 9, 1951. Formerly employed by Sundstrand Corp. Long time member of Riverside Community Church. Ruth loved watching the birds and all of the wild animals that inhabited her yard. She would like to thank everyone at ACT and VNA Hospice for their loving care. Survivors include her son, Gene Hayenga; sisters-in-law, Erma Sandstrom and Elaine Garnhart; nieces, Diane Lynch, Jane Garnhar and Janet Schultz; nephews, Gene Anderson, Darrell Sandstrom and Jim Garnhart as well as other surviving family members. Predeceased by her husband on June 17, 1987; her sister, Mina Anderson and her brother, George Sandstrom. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Dr. William Richard Kerr, Sr. officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from noon until time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family.
