Russell O. Steiner

Russell O. Steiner, 86, died Thursday, December 15, 2022 in his home. Born September 1, 1936 in Argyle, WI, son of Arnold Lloyd and Manda Melvina Everson Steiner. Graduated from Argyle, WI High School and following that, he received an Associates Degree. He was employed as an aircraft engineer by Woodward Governor Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1995. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Married Karen Schelling in Las Vegas, on March 22, 1997.

Russ was very young for his age with a sharp, keen mind who could always figure things out and help others to do the same. He was quite tech savvy and there really wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He savored good meals and especially looked forward to his time with other Woodward retirees at the Whiffle Tree in Roscoe for the past 27 years. He loved cars and going to car shows and always had a special love for animals.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; step-children, Stacey (Allan) McInnis and Nathan Anderson; sister, Clarice Schraepfer; niece, Karen Hildenbrand; long-time good friend, Pat Elmer and his much loved furry, feline companion, Mia Claire. Predeceased by his parents, son, Dennis Steiner; grandson, Eric Steiner and brother-in-law, Eldon Schraepfer.
