nbsp; Russell Glen Romine, 50, of Loves Park, cherished son, father, brother, uncle, family member and friend, passed away peacefully with his family beside him on January 13, 2008 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.nbsp; Russ received a liver transplant 11 years ago.nbsp; Beloved son was born in Tuscola IL, on September 13, 1957 to Myron and Joanne (Thompson) Romine.nbsp;nbsp; Graduated from West High School, class of 1976 and attended Rock Valley.nbsp; He belonged to Carpenter Union Local No.792. nbsp;He also was in Texas working on amazing and beautiful high-rises, including Bank One downtown Dallas known to his friends there as Chicago. Russ, an avid Chicago Fan, was devoted to sports; youd never see him without the sports section sticking out of his back pocket.nbsp; Russ was a strong supporter of products made in America. Russ played baseball all his life.nbsp; He played on several local teams with his much loved brother-in-law, Mike, and his nephew Ryan along with extended family members.nbsp; His son, Russ II, hanging on the fence watching his father along with his daughters and nieces.nbsp; Russ was coached by his father and he went on to coach his sons baseball, basketball and football teams.nbsp; A loving brother to his big sis, Valorie and Vicki, and baby sis, Vanessa, he enjoyed many happy times with them and their families.nbsp; Russ enjoyed visiting family in Tuscola and Arkansas fishing with his grandpa Pete.nbsp; He greeted people and animals with a smile that lit up the world.nbsp; The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rush University staff and their Chaplin for all their kindness.nbsp; Russ is survived by his children, Russell Glenn II, Carrie (Andrew) and Renee;nbsp; mother, Joanne;nbsp; sisters, Valorie (Mike Hunter), Vicki and Vanessa;nbsp; nieces, Megan, Michelle, Michaela;nbsp; nephews, Ryan, Chadd and Ricky;nbsp; several aunts, uncles and cousins;nbsp; special friend, Shelia and family;nbsp; his special dog, Cocoa; extended family, Deborah and her family mothers, sisters and brother.nbsp; Predeceased by his father, Myron Romine; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, January 18, 2008, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockton Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av., Rockford, IL 61103.nbsp; Burial in Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008, from 5 until 7 pm, at the funeral home and on Friday from 10am until time of service. Memorials may be made to the family.
