LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER

Russell A. Russ Calvagna, 76, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 3, 1935, in Rockford, the son of Alfonso and Emanuela Nellie (Cacciatore) Calvagna.
Russ married Gloria Johnson in Rockford on June 30, 1962.
He was an insurance agent for Bankers Life and Casualty in Rockford for over 40 years. Russ was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing billiards and pool with his friends at the State and Madison Pool Hall. Russ enjoyed visiting Minnesota for fishing trips with his family. nbsp;He loved being involved in his childrens and granddaughters lives.
Russs family was the most important part of his life.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Gloria; his son, Jay Calvagna; his daughter, Jill Koch; granddaughter, Faith Koch; brothers, Mario (Marilyn) Calvagna and William Calvagna, both of Rockford; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Frances Frannie Barcelona; sisterinlaw, Aloma Calvagna, and brotherinlaw, Tony Barcelona.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. with Reverend David Vogel officiating.
Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church on Monday. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
