Ruby F. Heaslip

Ruby F. Heaslip, 65 of Rockford died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Swedish American Hospital after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 27, 1947 in Kennett, MO the daughter of William C. and Genevieve (Hornback) Andrews. Married her loving husband, Kevin T. Heaslip on May 18, 1985 in Rockford. Ruby was currently employed at American Quality as a quality inspector. She was well known for her very special baby blankets that she made for her family, her love of Mt. Dew will never be forgotten and she took time out to fish. Ruby spent time with her Body Vive Buddies whom she loved very much, she watched her beloved Cubbies and spent all the time she could with her beautiful grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her care team that consisted of her wonderful and devoted sister, Donna and Dr. Al Mardini, Dr. Melissa Macias and all of the nurses and staff on the 7th and 10th floors at Swedish American Hospital and her niece Catey Judd. Survivors include her husband, Kevin of Rockford; sons, Randy Irelan of Ark and Mark (Stephanie) Irelan of OH; grandchildren, Shane, Allison, Katie, Ainsley, Rhiannon and Dylan; brother, Jerry Andrews of KS; sisters, Donna (Andrew) Payne of MO and Mildred Courtney of Bellville and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by her parents; twin daughters, Artheda and Anita Irelan and brothers, James, Wendell and Harold Andrews.
Funeral service Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13 from 5-7 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to the Swedish American Regional Cancer Center.
