Ross E. Gustafson

Ross E. Gustafson, 60, a lifelong resident of Rockford, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Swedish American Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 9, 1957 the son of Lawrence W. and Marjorie (Taylor) Gustafson. Worked for over 40 years in many capacities at J.L. Clark, most currently a fork lift truck operator. Ross was a dedicated employee who enjoyed watching the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Vikings. He was also a Civil War buff and had visited many Civil War battle fields. His family was humbled to find out that he was an eligible candidate for cornea donation through Eversight and that two families may benefit from their loss.
Survivors include his brothers, Drew and Jay Gustafson both of Rockford; niece, Dawn Pendzinski nephew, Andrew Gustafson and special friend, George “Bud” Fislar Preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established. Express online condolences at: www.fitzgeraldfh.com
