ROSEMARY M. SUE TIERNEY DIDIER, 83, Rockford, left this world at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Provena St. Anne Center. She is now with the Lord and her loving husband of 53 years, George, and her beloved son Joey who they lost at the young age of 15. nbsp;Born May 15, 1924 in Belvidere, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Bott Tierney.nbsp; Graduated from St. Mary School and Muldoon High School.nbsp; Married George L. Didier, Jr. in St. Mary Catholic Church in Rockford on August 9, 1949.nbsp; They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999.nbsp; Out of this loving union they were blessed with six children, three boys and three girls.nbsp; She was very proud of their eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Founding member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.nbsp; Sue was Ways and Means chairman for the Catholic Womens League and an OSF St. Anthony Medical Center volunteer (Pink Lady).nbsp; Also a member of River Bluff Auxiliary and vice president of CARITAS, Catholic Charities Auxiliary.nbsp; She was on the board of Catholic Charities for 9 years, president for 2 terms of Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and founder of the Share the Vision Award.nbsp; One of her proudest accomplishments as a Catholic Charitiesnbsp; volunteer was her effort for years to coordinate a holiday party for underprivileged children.nbsp; Her efforts led to hundreds of deserving children receiving gifts each year.nbsp; Sue was a first rate political worker having been a Precinct Committee person with her husband George.nbsp; She started the ninth ward Democrats Club and worked on many political campaigns, including her granddaughters and son-in-law.nbsp; Along with her husband George, she established Voice of Victims support group, which helped change aspects of the criminal justice system.nbsp; She was also a volunteer for the City of Rockford VIGOR Program at the City Hall in recent years.nbsp; Sues family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Provena St. Anne Center, especially to Chris Robey for her remarkable and loving care.nbsp; Also a tremendous thank you to Caroline Seabaugh who so tirelessly gave of herself time and time again in support of a friend. nbsp; Survivors include her children, Marianne E. (Bob) Lucas, Leesburg, FL., Diane M. (Bill) Adolphson, George J. (Nadine) Didier, Sue M. (Paul) Elmer and Dan G. Didier, all of Rockford; grandchildren, Margie (Jim) Veitch, Rockford, Shawn (Dawn) Lucas,nbsp; Pecatonica, Bill, Ryan and Angela Adolphson, Michael and Brian Didier, Paul Joseph Elmer and Baylee and Sydney Didier all of Rockford.nbsp; Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and several cousins.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents, her husband, George on July 5, 1999 and her son, Joseph Patrick Joey in March, 1975. nbsp; A funeral mass will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, November 5, 2005 in St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald P. Kobbeman officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m.nbsp; Visitation also from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday in the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be designated at a later date. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.nbsp;nbsp;
