Rosemary M. Tewes, 85, a lifelong resident of Rockford passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. Born December 22, 1932, the daughter of Lester and Elizabeth (Grave) Hooper. Rosemary was a graduate of Muldoon High School. She met Victor Tewes during Arthur Murray dance lessons and they were married on May 3, 1958. Rosemary raised her family in her childhood home. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and also stayed busy attending her children’s sporting events. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles, cards and games. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Patrick Parish.
Survived by her husband, Victor; children, Linda Tewes, Barbara Tewes, Sharon Tewes, Mary Tewes, Teresa (Peter) Daleske, Michael Tewes and Rita Tewes; grandchildren, Jack, James, Eleanor and Emma Daleske; siblings, Dorothy Sandven, Tom (Bonnie) Hooper, Ginny Forrest, Betty (Jon) Hart and Patty (Ron) Wallace and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, brother, Robert Hooper, brothers-in-law, Roger Sandven, Phil Forrest, Doug Petit, Pete Ferguson and nephew, Caleb Mehlig.
Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 North Rockton Avenue.
