Rosemary J. Cassel

Rosemany  M.  Cassel,  91 Loving Mother, Grandmother,  Great-Grandmother   Rockford--Rosemary Monahan Cassel passed into eternal life at 3:30pm, June 28, 2008 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, Madison, WI after a short illness.  Rosemary was born April 21, 1917 in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Finn Monahan.  She married William W. Cassel, Jr. on November 24, 1945.  He died in March, 1982.  Rosemary was employed HG Collins Real Estate as a book-keeper and as a secretary at the Selective Service and IRS of Rockford, IL and at The Winnebago County Board.She was a member of Saint Peter Cathedral for over 60 years.  She was a member of the Catholic Women's League, past president of St. Anne's Society, a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Society and the original Irish Marching Society of Rockford. Rosemary's daughters and son include: Kathleen (Jerry) Livers, William (Leah) Cassel, Mary Eileen (Bill) Finley, and Colleen R. Barlow.  Her grandchildren include: Eve (Walter) Southard, Gabriel Cassel, Carl Cassel, Caitlin Livers, Colin Livers, Christina Rose Finley, Michael Finley, Elizabeth Finley and Cari Finley, Casandra Arabia, and Shannon Rose Barlow.  Her great grandchildren are: Victoria Livers, Jace Woods, Zayden Finley, Teagan and Spencer Lawson and Taylor Southard; Cousin Eileen Welch (James Hoagland) and a host of nieces and nephews. One brother Edward Monahan and Sister Eileen Monahan Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 2,   2008 at St.  Peters Cathedral,  1243 N.  Church  Street.  There will be a visitation Tuesday  July 1,  2008 evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home Riverside Chapel 3910 N.  Rockton   Ave. Rockford,  Il.   61103.
