Rosemary Giammarese, 89 Loved by all who knew her Rosemary Giammarese, 89, went to her heavenly home Tues. April 20. 2010. Born March 25, 1921 in Aragona, Sicily. Daughter of Salvatore and Beatrice (Seminerio) Buscemi. Immigrated to the United States at 7 1/2 years old. Settling in Brooklyn. Was an intregal part of her family's assilimation to the American culture and their move to Chicago. She gave herself lovingly to her many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Rose worked at Standard Electric in Chicago, for 25 years as a supervisor. She, then owned and operated Tiny Tots Nursery School in Chicago in the 1950s. She married her loving husband, Santo F. Giammarese in Chicago in 1957. After his death on July 22, 1964, Rosemary moved her family to Rockford. To support her family, she worked as a hostess/cashier at Villa Capri and Capri Restaurants for 10 years. She enjoyed sharing in her son's dream, Franky's on Broadway, and could be found there numerous nights over 20 years helping out and visiting with customers. She loved to garden, sing, cook, read her Bible and spend time with family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home, Dove Wing and to Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center. Survivors include her children, Rosalie (Daniel) Sawyer, Beatrice Ricotta and Frank Giammarese; grandchildren, Christina and Hannah Sawyer, Joe, Stephanie and Madalena Ricotta; sisters, Sue (Ben) Patrasso and Terry (George) Zammuto; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, very special cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Albert and Frank Buscemi Sr. and numerous brother and sister-in-laws. Funeral service Tuesday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 4503 Charles St. Rockford. Visitation Monday, April 26 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 4:00 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday at church from 9 until time of service. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
