Rosella J. Rondone

Rosella “Rose” J. Rondone, 95, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. She was born on December 13, 1929, in Freeport, Illinois and was raised by Leonna and Walter Renken. She went on to marry the love of her life, Ignatius “Iggy” Rondone on May 17, 1952. She was employed with Illinois Bell, later being AT&T, later she spent over 20 years working in the cafeteria of Washington Junior High School. She enjoyed being social at card games with friends, traveling with her husband, and being very fashionably conscious. Rose was devout in her catholic faith; she was a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and always enjoyed going to the Friday night fish fries with her husband, and even after his passing in March of 2023.

She will be missed by those who loved her most, her son Frank Rondone; nieces Cynthia (Tim) Borcherts and Linda (Fatone) McFaddin. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Iggy; their son Michael and daughter Mary Ann; her parents and sister-in-law Angela. A very special thank you to Independence Village for all of the love and care they showed to Rose throughout her journey with them.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
