Rose M. Misuraca, 93, of Rockford, passed away on February 27, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1931, in Rockford, the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Pumilia) Mistretta. She graduated from West High School, class of 1949. She worked at Barber Coleman as a secretary. Rose had a passion for the arts, where she enjoyed floral designs, drawing, decorating, reading, and she loved her jewelry. Rose had a beautiful soul that was loving, witty, friendly, and kind. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by those who loved her most, children, Joseph (Susan Williams) Misuraca, Linda (David) Kreissler, Charles (Brenda) Misuraca, and Jodie (Brad) LaMantia; grandchildren, Charles (Sana) Misuraca, Anthony Misuraca, Jenna (Fiancé, Sean Destro) Misuraca, Gabriella (Kaleb) Pincombe, Nicholas (Andrea) Kreissler, Grace Kreissler, Peter LaMantia, and Christyna LaMantia; great grandchildren, Payton Misuraca and Aya Misuraca; sister, Antonette Yuccas; brother, Lenny (Bev) Mistretta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Sarah; husband, Charles Joseph Misuraca; sister, Jenny (Elmer) Plymale; and brother-in-law, Roger Yuccas.
A Memorial Mass will be on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, IL 61102. A visitation will be prior to Mass starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial of cremated remains at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Please share memories and condolences online.
