Rose M. Ciaccio

Rose M. Ciaccio, 95, of Rockford, IL, passed away on October 19, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1926 in Rockford, IL to Anthony and Margaret (Lazzio) Parlapiano. Rose graduated from West High School in 1944. She married Frank Ciaccio on Oct. 5, 1946, and together they raised three wonderful children. Rose worked over 25 years at Jubilee Food Mart in Loves Park alongside her brothers Joe and John. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and a member of their Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of St. Ambrogio Society’s Ladies Auxiliary. Rose enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards and bocce. She was a warm, caring, and compassionate person. Family meant everything to her. Rose always looked forward to the monthly “Aunts Lunch” where aunts and cousins would gather for lunch and laughter. She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children. Rose was known for her beautiful smile, affectionate giggle and the dimple on her left cheek. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Rose is survived by her children, Frank (Anita) Ciaccio, Susan Ciaccio and Marcey (fiancé Jeff Schwengels) Sink; her grandchildren, Ben Ciaccio, Nick (Megan) Ciaccio, Sam (Haley Ferro) and Tony (Adria Hogan) Sink; her great grandchildren, Annie and Stella Ciaccio, Milo and Chase Sink, and baby girl Sink due in December; her sister-in-law, Judy Ciaccio; her special friends and neighbors, Brad, Debbie, Brian and Gary Glidden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Ciaccio; her in-laws, Sam and Lilly Ciaccio; her siblings, Mary (Earl) Halbin, Joe (Rose) Parlapiano, Marge (Frank) Manarchy and John (Brenda) Parlapiano; her in-laws, Josephine (Chuck) Rotolo and Jake Ciaccio.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, especially, Ashley, Mandi, Stacey, and Sylvia, for all of their compassion, love, and care they provided to Rose.

Funeral Mass for Rose will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, IL 61102. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Rose’s name to Carpenters Place, https://www.carpentersplace.org/donations/.
