Rose J. Tanaglia

Rose J. Tanaglia, 95, a lifelong resident of Rockford died Friday, August 04, 2017 at Presence St. Anne Center with her family at her side. Born December 15, 1921 the daughter of Muzzio and Louisa (Cuppini) Giorgi. Graduated from Rockford Central High School in 1940 which was the last graduating class. Married to her loving husband of 71 years, Primo Tanaglia on September 1, 1946 and together they had two beautiful daughters. Rose was coined as "Casino Lil" by her friends and family. She was an avid card player who won more games than lost. She was also a wonderful golfer and was the oldest person to play with the Ingersoll Women's Golf Club. Rose was kind and caring with a sense of humor who loved to make people feel warm and welcome. Her family and friends cherish the time they have spent with her over the years and will miss her very much especially her lifelong girlfriends Rose Zanin and Rose DalPra. Special thank you to our cousins, Mary Louise Gaziano and her family, Larry Pro and Joseph Sola, MaryLou and Michael Angileri, and our Uncle Joe Tanaglia and his family.

Survived by her loving husband Primo, daughters Marcia(Roger) Williams and Louisa(Raymond) Hayenga. Grandchildren, Trisha(James) McKnight, Tracey(Steven) Overstreet, Andrew (Debra)Hayenga, Allison (Patrick)Roe, and Tess(Colin) Sander. Great grandchildren, Sydney, Zachary, Gabreal, Erin, Simon and Sloane.

Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave with visitation from 9:30 until time of prayer in the Parish Hall. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to: Presence St. Anne Center or Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clare's. Fitzgerald Funeral Home is assisting the family.
