Rosalie "Rose" A. Pearson

Rosalie “Rose” A. Pearson 88 of Rockford, IL, passed away Thursday, October 8th, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 16, 1932 to Clemente and Antionette (Ferrantino) Tucci.

Rose was always very proud of her Italian heritage and New York roots, and loved time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and performed many hours of volunteer work for the Rock Valley College Center for Learning in Retirement, Northern Illinois Hospice and Milestone, Inc. An international traveler, she returned to her heritage homeland Italy several times with family members in tow. Rose also enjoyed spending time at the lake house in Northern Wisconsin supporting her children’s waterskiing club and growing lifelong friendships. She was an unbelievable scrabble player, crossword puzzler, avid reader, a calligrapher who did many projects for family and friends and enjoyed quilting, knitting and antiquing. Rose loved generations of dogs, cats and horses. The Pearson kitchens were always filled with the smell, tastes, textures of Italian cooking and homemade delights.

Rose is survived by her children, Jamie Mundy, Gail (Kris) Kukla, Annette (Jeffrey) Swanson and Tom (Bettina) Pearson; grandchildren, Victoria (Tim) Pieper, Abigail (Logan) Everett, Anastasia Kukla, Emma Swanson, Tanner and Breanna Pearson; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Nolan and Lydia; nephews Michael and Dale Chiusano and niece Lisa Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her parents Clemente and Antoinette Tucci, sisters Angela Chiusano and Phyllis Knopke, and brothers Paul and Alfonse.

A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory- Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. Memorial service will be private. Inurnment at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6202 Charles Street, Rockford, IL 61108.
