Rosalie “Rosie” A. Rader, 92, of Rockford, passed away on October 17, 2024. She was born on February 15, 1932, in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Viola (Bussan) Korte. Rosie married Adolph “Marty” Rader on September 27, 1952, at St. James Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2010.
Rosie worked as a waitress at Stockholm Inn for many years. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and hosting holidays, especially Christmas Eve dinner. She loved to sing old school country and gospel songs as she cooked and was well known for her rhubarb sauce that she always made for family gatherings. She was also known for her quick wit and love of playful banter, and was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and sister.
She is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” (Jeanine) Rader and Sandra “Sandy” Quillen; adopted son, Keith Hale; grandchildren, Lisa Rader, David (Shannon) Rader, Nicholas (Hannah) Rader, Melissa (Eric) Brown, Amy (Brian) Nauman, and Neil Quillen; numerous great grandchildren; and 5 siblings. She is predeceased by her parents, Oscar, and Viola; husband, Marty; son, Richard “Dick”; daughter in law, Lori; and 3 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road Rockford, Illinois 61108. A visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Hospice
