Ronald "Ronnie" L Anderson,Jr.

April 21, 1952 — May 1, 2017

“The beautiful thing is, music can be like a time machine. The lyrics, the melody, the mood can take you back to a moment in time like nothing else can.” One of our local gifted musicians has taken the stairway to heaven, but we’ll always remember his love for music. Ronald “Ronnie” L. Anderson, Jr, 65, Darien, WI, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, surrounded by friends and family. He was born April 21, 1952, in Rockford, the first son of Ronald L. Sr. and Beverly (Erickson) Anderson. Music was always a part of Ronnie’s life, playing with many local and regional bands over the years. He was an accomplished guitar and steel guitar player, and had a deep appreciation for a broad range of music. He could sing a mean blues or country song, or harmonize with a barbershop quartet. Ronnie had a funny sense of humor and his ability to tell a great story will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He worked for Ballard Electric Company before retiring, and enjoyed travel, music, golf, and was an avid Cubbie and Chicago Bear fan.
Survived by his longtime girlfriend, Mary Rendon of Darien and her two daughters, Jennifer and Tiffany Rendon, both of Delevan, WI and Tiffany’s children, Locklan, Mika, and Tenley; his sisters, Lori (Mike) Bryant of Tucson, AZ and Lynn (Jay) Olexy of Westminster, MD; his brother Randall Anderson of Tucson, AZ; his nieces and nephews, Chase and Tanner Bryant and Hannah and Madelynn Olexy.
