Ronald “Ron” Lee Diestelmeier, 76, of Rockford, passed away on November 16, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 27, 1946, the son of Raymond and Pauline (Beck) Diestelmeier. Ron served in the U.S. Army. He married Connie Ritschel on December 26, 2014, in Rockford. He worked for Taylor Company as a foreman.
Ron was an active member of Calvary Christian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and farming. He was gentle spirited and loving. He was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Pappy, and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Chris Diestelmeier; stepchildren, Shannon (Donald) Larrabee, Jason (Gina Parksmall) Small, Evelyn (Nick) Hall , Dave (Rebecca) Rudolph, Phillip Rudolph, and Brian (Kara) Rudolph; grandson, Skyler Diestelmeier; step grandchildren, Brenton (Jessica) Davis, Katelynn (Austin) Olejniczak, Hongjung Park, Yeojin Park, Emily, Shawn, Jocelyn, Aiden, Jackson, Jordan, Jaylinn, Leila, Leiton, and Brooklyn; great grandchildren, Savannaha Davis, Summer Davis, and Kevin Olejniczak; and fur babies Happy and Hercules “Hercy”. He is predeceased by his parents; siblings, Ugene, Gerald, Judy, and Donald; and wives, Candace “Candy” and Deborah “Deb”.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Calvary Christian Church, 5455 Charles Street, Rockford 61108. A visitation will take place prior to the service starting at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Rockford Rescue Mission.
