Ronald "Ron" J. Duda

Ronald “Ron” J. Duda, 72, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully in his home October 24, 2018. Born March 28, 1946 in Chicago; he was the son of Joseph and Marie (Zawislak) Duda. He married Joyce K. Drajka on May 18, 1968.
Ron was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; Charter Grand Knight of Counsel 8021. He retired from the Department of Defense after more than thirty-three years of employment.
Ron’s goal in life was to leave others smiling. One of his great accomplishments was donating thirteen gallons of blood to the Northern Illinois Blood Bank which helped save the lives of many.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, sailing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Joyce Duda; daughters, Cheryl (Greg) Robertson and Laura (Robert) Roeven; grandchildren, Sanne, Hannah, Kerstan, Zachary and Thijs; numerous nieces and nephews and many life-long and new found friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral mass 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park. Visitation 4 until 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford.
