Ronald “Ron” D. Farlik, of Monroe Center, IL passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
Born February 17, 1968 in Rockford to Robert J. & Beverly J. (Woodford) Farlik, Ron graduated from Stillman Valley High School, class of 1986. He played football, basketball and threw the shot put and discus, qualifying for the state tournament in the shot put his senior year.
Ron attended Bradley University, where he was an active member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He worked as a surveyor and later in sales at Sports & More at CherryVale Mall.
Ron’s greatest pride was his family and the dear friends he maintained contact with until the end of his life. His friends in particular gave him strength and helped him persevere through the many medical challenges he faced throughout adulthood, and he was always grateful for their love and support.
Survivors include parents, Robert and Beverly Farlik; siblings, Daniel (Kathleen Stockdale) Farlik, Susan (Keith) Carlson and Jodi (Casey) Laughman; and niece Paige Laughman. Predeceased by grandparents Frank and Edith Farlik and Roland and Nancy Woodford. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation Rites were accorded.
