Ronald A. Oldejans

August 25, 1942 — March 27, 2024

Rockford

Ron Oldejans passed away on March 27. He was born in Belvidere to Roelof and Ruby Oldejans on August 25, 1942. Ron attended Logan Elementary School, Belvidere High School, and graduated with an Associate Degree from Rockford Business School. He served in the National Guard Army for six years. He was married to Eileen Castronovo for fifty-seven years. They had two sons, Daniel and Jason. Ron was a loving husband and father. 

He worked at First Federal Savings and Loan Bank for thirty-five years and retired as chief staff appraiser. After that, he sold real estate for eight years, and drove a delivery truck for three years.  His hobbies were golf, reading, watching sports, and doing yard work. Ron was a devoted Catholic and an active member of St. Rita Church Knights of Columbus and Alpine Kiwanis. 

His family thanks St. Croix Hospice for the loving care they gave him. Special thanks to Nurse Alana and caregiver Dana. 

A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109. A visitation will be prior to Mass starting from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Croix Hospice or Alpine Kiwanis Special Olympics. Please share memories and condolences online at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
