Ronald E. Goepfert, 77, Rockford, IL, passed away on December 12, 2021. He was born in Monroe, WI on October 20, 1944 to Ernest and Frieda (Lueck) Goepfert. Ronald was a farmer in Monroe until he graduated from Monroe High School. He then moved to Rockford, IL where he worked for Bergstrom Inc. for 35 years. Ronald married Marilyn Ainsworth on July 19, 1976. He obtained his Associate Degree from Rockford Business College. Ronald retired from Bergstrom and worked for Chrysler for 7 years as a temp until he decided to retire for good. He loved to tinker with things and fix anything he could. Ronald enjoyed helping people and would talk to anyone. His family will miss his daily shopping trips where he would find random things he thought they needed and leave it for them on their porch or in their fridge. Ron and his wife recently took their 100th trip to Cairns, Australia. They loved to travel and visited many places around the world. They even rode their motorcycles to California several times and other states, enjoying all of the great scenery together. Ronald loved classic muscle cars and his favorite was his 1970 Chevelle he had for the longest time. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Goepfert; his son, Anthony (Wendy) Arco; his granddaughter, Cassandra (Tevin Logwood) Arco; his great granddaughter, Teniya Logwood; his brother, Randy Goepfert; his brothers-in-law, Michael (Bonnie) Ainsworth and Steve (Connie) Ainsworth; his sisters-in-law, Virginia (Jim) Sorg and Carol Buchanan; his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Michael, Luke, Doug, Kelcy, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Randi, Cole, and Samantha; and his beloved cat, Chompers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Ronald’s request there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ronald’s name to the Natural Land Institute. https://www.naturalland.org/.
